Tim just left for work and I decided to do some cleaning and picking up around the house before starting into some cases from work that I needed to get caught up on...
After finishing up the dishes and noticed that I was stepping on some crumbs that needed to be swept. I remembered that my broom was in the garage so I walked downstairs into the garage to find it. I ended up picking up some trash from putting up the peg boards last night, threw the bag of trash in the trash can and then saw the broom. On my way back into the basement from the garage, I saw a few things that I could organize downstairs and picked up and rearranged a few things on the shelving in the basement. Then saw that the washer and dryer were done saw that I didn't have a laundry basket downstairs to put the clothes in. So I took out all the clothes, folded and hung them up and threw in some more clothes. I also found a box of Tim's college stuff that had an old bottle of cologne that when I opened it, it spilled all over my hand. Yuck. I went through the box to see what the rest of it was since I hadn't seen that box before. After wondering why my husband holds on to weird junk, I remembered I needed to take the folded clothes upstairs. So I headed back upstairs and hung up the clothes and put away the folded laundry and walked back into the kitchen to wash the cologne off my hands and realized....there are still crumbs on the floor and I forgot to bring the broom upstairs.
Wasn't that the whole reason I went downstairs.
Oh good grief. I'll get it when its time to throw in some more laundry...and hopefully I don't get distracted and forget to bring the broom upstairs again.

Evening Walmart Trips...and more stupid people.
I'll admit, there are a lot of things that get my attention about parents and even sometimes about kids that are out of control. One thing that always urks me is beginning to be a continual event lately at the my last few trips to Walmart.
Tim and I made a Lowe's run to pick up some hooks for our garage peg board but ended up at Walmart since Lowe's had nothing good. While at Walmart, we were walking behind a young couple that were totally oblivious to their little boy (couldn't have been over 3-4yrs old) walking 8-10 feet behind them. Not ONCE did they turn around in the distance that we followed them from the garden center to the front registers....probably 100 yards. Mind you, this was at 10pm. Shouldn't a little guy like that be in bed?
I realize I am making a snap judgment without knowing their situation or why they were ignoring their child in a large store at 10:00pm...but it never fails to make me question the common sense of parents.
Also I realize I do not have children of my own but so much of parenting goes back to common sense. I wouldn't let my tiny toy poodle walk 10 feet behind me because I would be afriad he would get lost because he's kind of a space case sometime. Or that someone might snatch him up because he's so stinky cute. Why wouldn't this same common sense be used with a child?!?
Do these space cadet parents not realize how quicky a tiny child like that can disappear or get distracted by something interesting and veer off from following behind these adults he is foloowing? It urks me to the point that I want to get the parents attention and ask "Is he with you because I couldn't tell since you are ignoring him."
Why are parents so ignorant sometimes?
And thats my soap box for the day .... :-)

What are you looking at?
Talk about people gauking at me.
Our side yard hadn't been mowed for over a week because we've been busy and with the rain it was getting pretty ragged looking. Tim left for work at 6:30 tonight and I told him I would get the yard mowed so he wouldn't have to do it since he's fighting allergies. When I went out to start the mower, it was barely spitting rain. Since our side yard is not HUGE (but good sized) I figured I could get it mowed in about 15 minutes. WRONG. It seemed like it was taking me a while and the spitting rain turned into a steady mist. I was slipping and sliding around on my flip flops so kicking them off was easier. Mowing in barefeet in the rain was quite a site to behold I'm sure. Not only were people driving by probably wondering "why is that moron mowing in the rain?" I was also covered in cut grass up to my shins. Lovely! Oh well, I had started it and wasn't going to leave it half done. So what that my feet had a green tint to them....green is the new tan. :-)

"You've Got Mail" again??
Why is it that when you actually have time to just sit on the couch and watch tv there is nothing interesting on? I'm watching "You've Got Mail" which I believe I watched last Saturday at this exact time because I didn't have enough energy to clean or fold anything.
Tim and I spent the weekend running around and enjoying the time out. Friday we ate at Texas Roadhouse which was more food then we could eat in one meal. It is one of those "peanut shells on the floor" kinda joints. By the time we got our food, we had almost ate our weight in peanuts (well not really) but yeah. Today after sleeping in (oh how I love to sleep in) we hit up a couple estate sales. The 2nd sale was a gold mine. Tim loves to find new christian commentary books to use when he's working on his lessons for church. He bought almost 100 books (yeah, insane) and ended up paying about a nickel a book! I love getting a good deal!!
We met up with Tim's brother and friend and played mini-golf at which I totally stunk at but at least I'm consistently horrible. It was a gorgeous day to be out and about.
We visited the Family Tree Nursery and Tim bought me some flower bulbs I was wanting for the west side of our house. What other guy would walk around a nursery and look at flowers and plants? He's awesome...he lets me spend money on flowers I know nothing about but want to try in one of my many flowerbeds. If we're lucky, some of them will grow and we'll have a pretty yard.
Tim has been working on refinishing our deck. Thankfully we are learning more how to "do it yourself" around the house, although electrical work will always be hired (we're both afraid of being shocked). We got 2 bids from companies on refinishing and resealing/staining the deck because it was getting the gray aged look to the wood. I took a "before" picture because I wanted to be able to compare it to the "after." What a professional would've done for $700, we are doing for about $200. Have I already said that I love to find a good deal and save money? :-)

Another year has passed...
Yesterday was our three year wedding anniversary and after spending the evening with Tim we laughed about some of the places we went on dates and crazy days since day one that we met. It is great to spend your life with someone that makes everyday so much fun and we can both laugh at ourselves. I am so thankful for him and look forward to what each new day/month/year will bring to us.
I love this man. These are just a few of my favorite pictures of Tim. :-)

When I'm a old lady and live with my kids...
When I'm an old lady, I'll live with each kid and bring so much happiness...just as they did.
I want to pay back all the joys they've provided. Returning each deed! Oh, they`ll be so excited! When I`m an old lady and live with my kids.
I`ll write on the walls with reds, whites and blues, And I`ll bounce on the furniture, wearing my shoes. I`ll drink from the carton and then leave it out. I`ll stuff all the toilets and oh, how they`ll shout! When I`m an old lady and live with my kids.
When they`re on the phone and just out of reach, I`ll get into things like sugar and bleach. Oh, they`ll snap their fingers and shake their heads, when I`m an old lady and live with my kids.
When they cook dinner and call me to eat, I`ll not eat my green beans or salad or meat, I`ll gag on my okra, spill milk on the table, And when they get angry...I`ll run...If I`m able! When I`m an old lady and live with my kids.
I`ll sit too close to the TV, through the channels I`ll click, I`ll cross both eyes just to see if they stick. I`ll take off my socks and throw one away, And play in the mud 'til the end of the day! When I`m an old lady and live with my kids.
And later in bed, I`ll lay back and sigh, I`ll thank God in prayer and then close my eyes. My kids will look down with a smile slowly creeping,
And say with a groan, "She`s so sweet when she's sleeping!"

Not a good day to be the boss...
My boss is probably the most generous man you'll ever meet...extremely bright and an awesome business man and attorney. Today was just an off day I suppose. Amoung the other real estate/apartment complexes that he owns, he also is a part owner our 3 story office building that is currently on the market for sale or lease. Another law firm was taking their 3rd walk through today and let me tell you...today is NOT a good day for prospective buyers to be taking a tour. With last weekend's snow, there was water that had come in and caused about a dozen ceiling tiles to crash to the floor in our large conference room. If that wasn't bad enough that our prospective buyers saw this, they also got stuck in the elevator between the 1st and 2nd floors. Oh did I tell you that the realtor that showed the building is afraid of elevators. Ouch! Hopefully they are brave enough to come back and buy the building but probably not likely. :-)
